I am glad to see the Snapdragon 801,  many rumors said a Snapdragon 800 was inside.

The most disappointing part of this news for me is the very small 2300 mAh battery,  While the Amoled display will help with power consumption its still a 5 Inch display and will consume significant power, This has to be the most disappointing part of the specs we have seen.

Motorola the theme for you this year will be battery life, I sincerely hope you’re not just betting on Project Volta, After seeing the leaked WSJ review on the Moto 360 not enough battery life could be a Motorola theme this year.

What are your thoughts on the specs of this device and are you getting the new moto x?

  1. I was really excited for the phone… But if these specs are true, I know for sure I won’t get it.

There are three points I am really disappointed about:
    – As you mentioned, the battery. Unless they did some very serious optimization, 2300mAh on a 5-inch 1080p phone is not much at all.
    – The dimensions: I was expecting some magic, pretty much a “full-screen phone” (as they’d called the original Moto X) 2.0. It looks bigger than I’d hoped, especially in terms of width.
    – Internal storage: Only 16GB? And no MicroSD slot? For a 2014 flagship? I seriously don’t get it.

Given the battery and internal storage, I seriously hope the price will at least be reasonable, because I don’t think many people will feel ready to spend $600+ off-contract for those specifications. As for me, I am really disappointed.

  2. Was very very very much excited!!!
    Now veryyyyy much dissapointed!!!
Small battery plus no micro sd!!! Moto sucks waiting for nexus 6 but if moto is going to make that then nothing to excited about

  3. I have been waiting months following every leak and to a major disappointment of a tiny battery i guess ill get the iphone 6 now…
